Making it easier to get people set up and working

Our team spent months talking to customers who were frustrated with how long it took to get new people up and running. The old way meant switching between screens, sending separate invites, then going back to add people to projects. Not anymore.

What changed:

• Multiple invites at once: Add several email addresses in one go instead of typing them one by one

• Project assignment during invite: Choose which projects someone should join right when you invite them

• Cleaner interface: We redesigned the whole invite window after watching people struggle with the old one

To use it:

1. Go to Workspace Settings → Teams

2. Click Invite

3. Enter email addresses

4. Select their projects

5. Hit Send

This update simplifies team onboarding and helps you collaborate faster by setting up the right access right away.

Why this matters: Last month, we timed how long it took to onboard five new team members the old way versus the new way. The difference was significant – what used to take 20 minutes now takes about 7. More importantly, new people can start contributing immediately instead of waiting around for access.

We get it, setting up a new project shouldn’t feel like filling out a long form just to get started. So back in July, we gave the whole project creation flow a refresh to make it simpler, faster, and a little more personal.

What’s better now?

Instead of one big form, you will walk through a quick two-step setup. It keeps things clear and helps you focus on what actually matters.

Step 1: Fill in the Basics + Add a Visual

Start with the essentials, project name, customer, template, start and end dates. Then, give your project something visual to help it stand out:

• Upload an image (could be a logo, moodboard, or even a quick sketch)

• Pick an icon from our built-in set

• Use an emoji if thats more your style

A simple visual like a logo or emoji can make it much easier to spot the right project, especially when you are juggling multiple tasks. It saves time and keeps your team focused on what matters.

Just a few seconds of setup now saves you a lot of clicking around later.

Step 2: Assign Workspace Members

In the second step, you can directly add members from your workspace to the project. Assign people right away so everyone has access from day one, reducing follow-ups and setup time.

How to use it?

• Click Create Project from the Projects page.

• Fill out project details and set an image/icon in Step 1.

• Add relevant workspace members in Step 2.

This update makes it easier to launch projects with the right context, the right people, and a touch of personality, all in just a few clicks.

This was our highest demanded feature for two years in a row. Users wished for Teamcamp to be as much of real desktop application as it could be, and not another browser tab fighting for attention.

What we shipped:

• Native desktop experience: Stand alone, faster loading, more responsive.

• Multiple tabs in the app: Work on multiple projects simultaneously without browser tab pandemonium.

• Collapsible sidebar: Keep the navigation out of the way when you require screen real estate for real work.

• Fast switching between workspaces: Switch quickly between teams or clients without having to sign out and in.

How to get started

• Download the desktop app from your account or our website.

• Use the collapse button to hide/show the sidebar.

• Switch between workspaces from the top of the sidebar.

It’s the same Teamcamp you know, just faster, cleaner, and always one click away.

Early feedback: Beta testers reported feeling more focused and productive. One project manager told us she finally stopped losing Teamcamp in a sea of browser tabs. The app launches faster than the web version and uses less memory too.

We kept hearing from people trying to use Teamcamp on their phones during client meetings or while traveling.

The truth is, our mobile experience was pretty rough, tiny buttons you couldn't hit properly, pages that looked weird on different screen sizes, and everything just took too many steps to accomplish.

What we fixed:

1. The mobile layouts actually work now across the main areas people use most: Tasks, Projects, Messages, and Time Tracking. You can navigate without constantly zooming in and out or struggling to tap the right thing.

2. iPad and tablet improvements: The interface finally makes sense on larger touch screens. We spent a lot of time getting the spacing right and making sure everything feels natural when you are using your fingers instead of a mouse.

3. Better mobile workflows: We went through and cleaned up how things work on smaller screen

• Improved scrolling and content visibility

• Streamlined task and project views

• More consistent touch-friendly components

In May, we introduced a simple but powerful feature. You can now add links directly to any task. This helps you provide helpful context, reference external tools, and keep everything related to the task in one place.

What’s new?

Add Links to Tasks: You can now easily attach any external URL to a task - whether it’s a document, design file, website, reference material, or tool.

Links appear in a new Links section on the Task Details page, where all collaborators can view and access them.

How to use it?

• Open the Task Details page.

• Use the More menu (•••) and select Add Link.

• Enter the URL and optional title.

• Added links will appear in the Links section of the task for quick access.

This makes it easy for your team to stay organized and ensures that important resources are always available where work happens.

In April, Our old editor was functional, but thats about it. People kept requesting better ways to format text and link to other work without constantly switching between tabs or copying URLs around. We finally had time to tackle this properly.

Embed cards that actually work:

Now when you paste certain URLs, they turn into useful preview cards right in your text:

• Project links show the project details instead of just a blue hyperlink

• Task URLs display the task info so people know what you are referencing

• Lightshot screenshots appear as actual image previews

• Videos can be uploaded and previewed directly in comments or notes

Slash commands :

Type a forward slash and you get a menu of formatting options. Its faster than hunting through toolbar buttons:

• Code blocks for sharing snippets

• Tables when you need structured data

• Checklists for action items

• Dividers, quotes, headings - the usual formatting stuff

Images show up immediately:

Before, you had upload an image and just see a filename until you saved everything. Now images appear inline while you're still writing, which makes editing much less frustrating.

Using it:

Just type / in any text field to get the formatting menu. Paste supported links and they will automatically become preview cards. Upload images and see them right away instead of after saving.

The goal was to make writing in Teamcamp feel less like filling out forms and more like using a proper document editor.

In March, We kept watching project managers jump between different screens just to get a complete picture of their projects.

Files were in one section, team workload info was somewhere else, important links were scattered around. It was inefficient and frankly annoying.

Resources section that makes sense:

The Project Overview page now has a dedicated spot for all the important stuff - upload project files, grab files that already exist in your workspace, or add links to external tools and resources. No more hunting around for that client brief or design spec.

Team workload visibility:

We added a section that shows how work is actually distributed across your team. You can see what percentage of tasks each person has assigned to them, which helps spot when someone overloaded or has capacity for more work.

How to find it:

Navigate to any Project and open the Overview tab.

• Scroll to the Resources section to upload or link key files for the project.

• View the Team Workload section to understand how tasks are currently assigned across your team.

These improvements make it easier to keep your project organized and ensure your team is working efficiently.

This came up a lot in support requests, especially from remote teams. Someone would wonder if they forgot to log out of a coworking space computer, or whether that old laptop still had access to their account.

What we added:

• You can now see every active login session - which device, location, and when it was last used. There's a new Security & Access section in your settings that lists everything.

• If something looks suspicious (login from a random city, unfamiliar device), just click "Revoke" and it's logged out instantly.

• It's one of those features you hopefully never need urgently, but when you do, you'll be glad it's there.

How to use it?

1. Go to Settings → Security & Access.

2. Review the list of active sessions for your account.

3. Click Revoke next to any session you want to remove.

This feature gives you more transparency and control, helping you keep your Teamcamp account safe.

Large tasks were becoming difficult to manage. People would create these massive task descriptions with internal checklists that nobody else could see or track properly. Then someone would mark the whole thing as "done" when really only half the work was finished.

What we built:

• You can now create sub-tasks within any task.

• Break complex work into smaller steps, assign each piece to different people, and track progress at both levels.

• Each sub-task gets its own assignee and due date.

Where you will see them:

• Sub-tasks show up in the main task view and also in your regular task lists, so you're not losing track of the smaller pieces.

• When you complete sub-tasks, everyone can see exactly what's been finished and what's still pending.

How to use it?

• Open any task and click Add Sub Task to create a new Sub Task.

• Add a title, assignee, and due date for each Sub Task.

• Sub Tasks appear under the parent task in both Task Details and the Tasks List view.

• Complete Sub Tasks as work progresses, giving everyone a clear picture of what’s done and what remains.

At the start of January, we rolled out the ability to reschedule inbox notifications, providing users with greater control over when they want to be reminded.

What’s new?

• Reschedule Notifications: Users can now reschedule inbox notifications to a specific date. This ensures you get notified at the most convenient time, helping you stay on top of important tasks and updates without being overwhelmed.

How to use it?

In your inbox, select any notification and click the Reschedule option. Choose a new date, and Teamcamp will send the notification on your preferred schedule.

At the start of December, we introduced the My Time Logs feature on the Time Tracking page, making it easier for users to monitor and manage their personal time logs.

What’s new?

• Personal Time Tracking: Users can now view all their own time logs in one place, providing better visibility into individual contributions.

• Export: Download a detailed CSV report of your time tracking data with just one click. This feature is perfect for personal record-keeping or sharing time reports with your manager.

How to use it?

Navigate to the Time Tracking page and select the My Time Logs tab to access your personal logs. Use the Export button to download your report.

At the start of November, we introduced new filtering options to help you navigate tasks more effectively in Teamcamp.

What’s new?

• Show Sub-tasks: Easily toggle sub-tasks visibility within your task list.

• Show Empty Groups: View task groups even if they don’t have any tasks, ensuring no group is overlooked.

• Task Completed by Recency: Sort completed tasks by their completion date, helping you focus on recent achievements.

• Completed Tasks for Specific Period: Filter completed tasks based on a selected time range for more precise tracking.

These updates give you greater control and flexibility when managing your tasks.

We’ve enhanced the Project Overview page to provide a more comprehensive view of your projects.

What’s new?

• Time Logs: You can now see detailed time logs for each project directly on the overview page. This gives better insight into how much time your team is spending on tasks, helping you track progress and optimize workflows.

How to use it?

Navigate to any project and open the Overview tab to find the new Time Logs section. You’ll see a breakdown of logged hours by team member, task, and date.

In September, we rolled out an update to the All Projects page, making it easier for users to discover and join new projects.

What’s new?

• View all projects: Users can now see projects they aren’t part of, giving better visibility into ongoing work across the organisation.

• Join projects effortlessly: If you’re an admin or owner, you can directly join any project from this page, streamlining collaboration and ensuring no project goes unnoticed.

Teamcamp has enhanced its Document Editor to streamline collaboration and improve transparency. With our latest update, you can now effortlessly track and manage changes in your documents. Here’s what’s new:

• Change Tracking: See who made changes, what was modified, and when updates occurred. This feature ensures you stay informed about every edit, providing clear visibility into document revisions.

• Real-Time Editing Visibility: When two or more team members open the same document, you can now view live edits as they happen. This allows you to see exactly what others are working on, enhancing collaboration and reducing conflicts.

These updates make it easier to collaborate efficiently, keep track of document changes, and work together seamlessly. Access these features through the Document Editor in Teamcamp to boost productivity and teamwork.

Teamcamp's latest update brings you enhanced control over your notifications. Our new Notification Settings feature allows you to customize how you receive updates, ensuring you stay informed without feeling overwhelmed. Here’s what you can adjust:

• Browser Notifications: Receive instant alerts directly in your browser for real-time updates. Easily toggle this option to get notifications for key events or turn them off when you prefer less disruption.

• Mobile Push Notifications: Stay connected while on the move. Enable or disable push notifications on your mobile device to get updates and messages no matter where you are.

• Email Notifications: Choose whether to get notifications sent to your email inbox. Opt-in for summaries and important alerts or turn them off to streamline your email experience.

To customize your notification preferences, simply go to the “Settings” section in Teamcamp. This update allows you to manage your notifications efficiently, ensuring you receive only the information that’s most relevant to you.

You can now assign one of the following status labels to each task:

• Backlog:Tasks that are in the queue but not yet started.

• To Do: Tasks that are ready to be worked on next.

• In Progress: Tasks that are currently being worked on.

• In Review: Tasks that have been completed and are awaiting review.

• Done: Tasks that have been completed and approved.

• Cancelled: Tasks that have been cancelled or are no longer needed.
